Chairman Dean,
I can trace the beginnings of the Dem victory last night to your election as party leader.
Many made fun of you. They were wrong.
They said you were too verbally undisciplined. They were wrong.
They said you were too liberal. They were wrong.
They said you were too unapologetic. They were wrong.
Your 50-state strategy -- which many scoffed at -- placed the Republicans on the defensive in once safe districts, forcing them to allocate resources over an increasingly large electoral terrain. The Republicans could no longer pour superior resources into a few seats making them harder for Dems to win. Look at where we won last night -- Arizona, Florida, Indiana, Kentucky and Kansas. This indicates your strategy works.
You enthusiasm and unapologetic love of the Democratic Party swept through the ranks. It made us want to be proud too be unapologetic Democrats. While the party suffered from the political equivalent of battered wife syndrome for the better part of 10-years, we are getting over it. And we have you to thank for starting us on the road to recovery.
Most importantly -- we now have a governing majority. And you helped to get us here.
So, thank-you chairman Dean. I backed you two years ago, and I back you more wholeheartedly now. You have my support.
Sincerely,
Bonddad
